The temple, “Wat Phra That Satcha" was built to prolong the fate of “Phra That Phanom” of Nakorn Phatom province. It was eventually demolished through natural forces on the 11th of August BE 2518. It was built on May 13th 2519 BE and completed on 20th May 2522 BE.

At the temple, we were awestruck by the sight of the Naga Serpent on both sides of the stairway to the temple. Each serpent had 7 heads. The serpents are colored from head to tail, making it a favorite photo opportunity. As you climb up the laterite stair, you will meet with the beautiful "Phra That Satcha" or the relic of truth. The relic is 33 meters tall, with an octagon 17 meters wide. The royal seven-tiered umbrellas at the top decorate the relic.

In addition, the temple compound also has a 5.5 meters diameter gong for visitors to hit before going up to the temple. Thais believe that hitting the gong will call forth angels and guardians to grant you wealth and happiness.

Whenever you have a chance to visit Loei province, don't forget to stop by and pray the relic of truth at this magnificent "Wat Lad Poo Song Tham."
