Tiger Kingdom; Get Real Up-Close and Personal with Tigers
There is a Thai proverb that says “never catch a tiger with your bare hands.” Well, there is a place in Chiang Mai that allows you to go against what we have been told for long and get up-close and personal with tigers; one of the most dangerous species on earth in (somewhat) secure environment. Located at Mae-rim district, Tiger Kingdom is the home of Indo-China tigers that you can really touch with your bare hands and take photograph with.
Tiger Kingdom offers once in a life time experience by letting you get close to and play with their hand reared tigers in protected environment. Visitors pay admission fee to get into tigers’ enclosures; prices are different depending on the size of tigers that you would like to get close to. There are Little Cubs (3-4 months old), Medium Size (12-16 months olds), and the Big cat (18-20 months old). Visitors are only allowed to be with older tigers as beyond this age they are more likely to revert to wild behavior and are therefore less safe. However, they can still be seen in reserve area
