Want something extraordinary than the typical night market? How about a pop up market that only opens for certain period of time in a year? What’s even luckier is you go to Bangkok for a trip and coincidently, the market opens for that particular weekend nearby your location.
This is the most hipster night market in Bangkok city – Artbox.
What makes this market unique is the use of shipping containers to house most of the stalls so that they can be moved around to different location throughout the year. This makes Artbox stands out of other night markets in the city.
While there is something more than the typical tourist souvenirs to offer at this market, you will find a lot of handmade accessories, fashion by local designers and even portrait art pieces from local artists. You can also check out various food stalls and trucks that offer gourmet style food and beautifully handcrafted Italian Soda.
This interesting concept started out since 2015 and has successfully made its stop at the third location. However, due to venue issue, the market only opens for several weekends, then closes indefinitely until further notice. This time Artbox returns at The EM District, from 20 May to 26 June. Only 2 weeks (17-19 and 24-26 June) left before it is closed again. So, grab your chance to visit now!
Walking direction to Artbox: Get off at Phrom Phong BTS station (Exit 6). Walk about 200 m and you will see Artbox on your left hand side. Check out Artbox Facebook fan page for more information and updates!
