เราเคยนึกสงสัยกันบ้างหรือไม่ว่า เปลือกหอยแต่ละชนิดที่เราพบเห็นนั้นมีชื่อว่าอะไร มันมีถิ่นกำเนิดมาจากที่ไหน เป็นเครือญาติกับหอยตัวใดบ้าง และเป็นหอยมีพิษหรือไม่ ฯลฯ สถานที่หนึ่งที่จะให้คำตอบสำหรับข้อสงสัยต่างๆ เหล่านี้ได้ นั่นคือ “พิพิธภัณฑ์เปลือกหอย กรุงเทพ”
